Cell Culture Technician

Description:

The purpose of this position is to maintain fibroblast cell cultures for the production of NouriCel MD.  Collect and sample fibroblast conditioned media and to manufacture solutions used during the cell culture process. Assist in the cleaning of all components, containers, and associated equipment .                        
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Maintain the cell culture of human fibroblast in a clean room environment as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times with minimum supervision
• Assist in the training of new technicians/interns in cell culture procedures
• Assist in the manufacture solutions used in production and processing of raw materials
• Sample by-products using standard methodologies
• Complete all relevant documentation compliant with cGMP and GDP guidelines
• Maintenance of the Cell culture complex and surrounding environment (i.e. refrigerators, freezer,  warm room, etc)
• Assist in the cleaning of autoclavable materials used during cell culture
• Assist in the maintenance of cell expansion cultures to passage seven

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree preferably in a natural science, from an accredited four-year program, or a combination of equivalent education and related experience   
• Computer Skills - Microsoft Office Suite e.g. Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Good Aseptic Techniques
• Strong understanding of biology, including animal organisms, their tissues, cells and functions.
• Basic knowledge of chemistry and chemical interactions' impact on organisms
• Intermediate mathematics skills and problem solving attitude
• Must be able to work weekends and public holidays as required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
